Aurobindo Pharma gets USFDA nod for two drugs
Mumbai: Aurobindo Pharma has said that it has received US administration’s approval for the Perindopril Erbumine tablets, used in lowering blood pressure for and Escitalopram Oxalate Oral anti-depressants.
The company received tentative approvals from the US Food and Drug Administration for the drugs, Aurobindo Pharma said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Perindopril Erbumine tablets are a generic version of the Solvay Pharmaceutical’s ‘Aceon tablets´ falls under the cardiovascular segment and is used in the treatment for the patients suffering from hypertension, the filing added.
The company also received US Food and Drug Administration tentative approval for Escitalopram Oxalate Oral solution, used for treating depressive disorders.
The Perindopril Erbumine drug will be available in 2 mg, 4 mg and 8mg, while Escitalopram Oxalate Oral tablets will be in 5mg, the filing said.
Aurobindo now has 85 approved Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) from the USFDA, it added.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs111.40, up 2.72% on the BSE.
