JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Bank launched an ambitious micro finance programme on 26 February to provide hassle free financial aid to small business owners in different sectors across the state.
“This programme will provide hassle free financial assistance to small businesses, artisans, agri-business activities at cheaper rates,” RBI Deputy Governor Usha Thorat said at the launch ceremony.
This will go in long way for uplifting rural based small businesses, she said appreciating the role of J&K bank in reaching out to people.
While speaking about the benefits of this programme, Thorat said, “The beneficiaries should take full advantage of the bank’s micro finance scheme to enhance their income generation capacity. But at the same time, they must repay the loans within the stipulated time and help the bank to make it purposeful for others.”
Bank Chairman Haseeb A. Drabu said that after Jammu and Kashmir, this programme would be extended to other states in phases.
