Mumbai: National Aluminium Company Ltd, India’s second-largest aluminium producer, reported a 2.5% dip in net profit for the fourth quarter ended 31 March 2007.
The public sector company reported a net profit of Rs591 crore for the last quarter of 2006-07, against Rs606 crore a year earlier. However, net sales increased marginally from Rs1,538 crore to Rs1,567 crore during the same period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on 25 April 2007.
However, for the year ended 31 March 2007, the company posted a net profit after tax of Rs2380.70 crore as compared to Rs1562.20 crore last year, it added.
Total income also grew to Rs6344.99 crore over Rs5122.39 crore recorded for the year ended March 31, 2006.
Shares of the company rose by Rs4.75 to Rs250.95 at close today on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
