Coal India net rises year-on-year
Profit rose 18.7% and revenue 10.83%, but plunged 31.12% over the preceding three months to `3,078.08 crore
Kolkata: Coal India Ltd’s (CIL) net profit for the September quarter plunged 31.12% over the preceding three months to ₹ 3,078.08 crore on account of a decline in average realization.
Revenue fell 11.68% to ₹ 14,572.54 crore as average realization during the quarter dropped to ₹ 1,406 a tonne from ₹ 1,428 a tonne between April and June.
Profit rose 18.7% and revenue 10.83% from the year-ago September quarter, when average realization was ₹ 1,376 a tonne.
CIL’s shares fell 0.63% to ₹ 346.25 apiece on BSE on Friday in a weak broader market.
