Mumbai: Multi-language satellite TV major Sun TV, owned by Kalanidhi Maran, today posted consolidated net profit of Rs 326.69 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008, a 32.75% increase over the last fiscal.
The group had reported a net profit of Rs246.09 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007, Sun TV said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income of the group increased to Rs925.54 crore for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008, from Rs 719.07 crore in the previous year.
The board of directors of the company has declared a dividend of Rs 2.50 per cent on shares of Rs 5 each ( 50%) for the financial year ended March 31, 2008, the company added.
On a standalone basis, the company reported a net profit of Rs 366.98 crore for the financial year ended March 31 as against Rs268.82 crore last year and the total income increased to Rs925.99 crore for fiscal year 2007-08 from Rs726.40 crore of the previous year.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs297, down 3.59% on the BSE in afternoon trade.
