Mumbai: Accenture and EDS have bid for a $500 million (Rs2,050 crore) information technology outsourcing contract from Reliance Communications Ltd, a source close to the development said on 7 August 2007.
The contract is likely to be finalized by month-end, he said.
A spokesman at Reliance said the company was constantly evaluating proposals.
Earlier, a newspaper report said IBM, Hewlett-Packard and a unit of Deutsche Telekom had also bid for the 10-year contract.
The contract would include billing, customer care and data management, and would be announced in two-three weeks.
Reliance Communications, India’s second largest mobile operator, said last month it planned to spend nearly $4 billion in the fiscal year ending 31 March 2008 on network expansion and spin off its business processing outsourcing unit.
It also sold 5% in its tower business to seven institutional investors for $6.75 billion.
