Singapore: Singapore Telecommunications Ltd., Southeast Asia’s largest telephone company, added a record number of users in the fiscal fourth quarter, led by India and Indonesia.
The company gained 12 million users in the three months ended 31March, taking its total to 124 million, Singapore Telecom said in a statement on 8 May. The Singapore-based company, known as SingTel, had 85 million users in the fiscal fourth quarter a year earlier.
Regional units, including Bharti Airtel Ltd, India’s biggest wireless operator, and PT Telekomunikasi Selular, the largest in Indonesia, boosted user numbers. The units added 11.4 million users in the quarter for a total of 115.2 million.
