New Delhi: Amid reports of national flag carrier Air India re-evaluating its decision to take delivery of some of the 111 airplanes it had ordered, US aircraft maker Boeing said on Thursday the airline has not cancelled or deferred any order placed to it so far.
“There have been no talks with Air India so far for cancellation or deferment for any aircraft. These are difficult times but no discussion on deferral as yet with Air India," said Boeing India President Dinesh Keskar.
The carrier had placed orders for 68 Boeing jets of the total 111 planes ordered placed by it. Turbulent times has even forced private carrier Jet Airways to defer delivery of seven Boeing planes.
Jet has postponed delivery of two Boeing-777 and five Boeing-737 by two-three years, Keskar said.
The aircraft manufacturer will deliver nine planes to Indian carriers in the current fiscal. This includes five Boeing-777 to Air India, three Boeing-737 to Air India Express and one Boeing-737 to Jet Airways.
He said that schedule for delivery of Boeing-787 Dreamliner to Air India has not been worked out yet. Air India had placed orders for 27 Dreamliners out of the 68 aircraft with Boeing.
