NEW DELHI: Select edible oils staged a comeback to close in positive zone with fresh gains on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market on 10 March, leading to emergence of buying by millers and local parties.
In the non-edible section, mahuwa and castor oil also firmed up due to a pick up in industrial demand.
Market men attributed recovery in edible oil prices to pick up in demand from vanaspati units as well as local parties.
They said pause in selling by stockists too had its impact on the prices.
Groundnut mill delivery oil rose by Rs100 to Rs6,600 a quintal, while groundnut solvent refined oil gained Rs10 to Rs 1,070-1,095 per 15-litre tin.
Sesame and Cottonseed mill delivery oils also fared better and strengthened to Rs5,100 and Rs4,340 a quintal against the previous close of Rs5,000 and Rs4,300.
Soyabean refined mill delivery oil posted Rs50 higher at Rs4,500 per quintal on firm outside advices.
