New Delhi: Drug firm Piramal Healthcare today said it will hire 300-400 people this year across the country, taking its total employee base to 7,400.
“We will be hiring 300-400 people in the current year in marketing division for our super-speciality products,” Piramal Healthcare director strategic alliance Swati A Piramal told reporters here.
The company had last year employed 1,500 people in the country for its mass marketing division.
“All our divisions-- dermatology, mass and super-speciality products-- are doing very well. We will keep hiring more people to expand our divisions,” Piramal said.
Speaking about the company’s new drugs, she said that of the 14 new drugs in the pipeline, eight have cleared pre-clinical stage and among these, one, used for treating cancer is going to enter phase II B clinical stage.
The company has also applied for regulatory approval for phase II B clinical trials in three countries-- Australia, USA and India.
When asked about the recent reports of stake sale, she said: “There is no proposal to sell stake in Piramal Healthcare and Piramal Lifesciences.”
