Mumbai: The country’s largest sugar manufacturing firm, Bajaj Hindusthan, today said it has posted a consolidated net loss of Rs197.62 crore in the financial year ended September 2008.
The company had a consolidated net loss of Rs 4.01 crore last year, Bajaj Hindusthan said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose to Rs2,120.26 crore in FY’08 from Rs1,812.86 crore in the last fiscal.
Besides, the board has declared a dividend of 60% at the rate of 60 paise on shares of face value of Re one for 2007-08.
On a standalone basis, Bajaj Hindusthan registered a net loss of Rs87.46 crore for the fourth quarter ended September 30, 2008, while the company had posted a net profit of Rs90.54 crore in the same quarter last year.
The company’s total income rose to Rs476.97 crore in the same quarter, from Rs427.35 crore in the year ago period.
Shares of Bajaj Hindusthan were trading at Rs61.50, down 1.68% on the BSE.
