Mumbai: DB Corp Ltd, the publisher of Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar, said profit rose 27.6% to Rs.70.62 crore in the quarter ended December from a year earlier.
The company’s total income, including units, grew 11.15% to Rs.438.88 crore.
Advertising revenue from print media businesses increased to Rs.341.2 crore in the third quarter from Rs.305.9 crore a year earlier.
“Following the past few quarters of sluggish economic growth and subdued sentiment, I believe this quarter heralds better tidings on the back of an improved economic environment that has also spurred the momentum of media ad spend over the last few months – a trend that may continue,” said Sudhir Agarwal, managing director, DB Corp Ltd.
Some products of HT Media Ltd, Mint’s publisher, compete with those of DB Corp. in some markets.
