With a starting price of just Rs3.5 lakhs, General Motors’s new Chevrolet Beat is being positioned as a potential game-changer in the small car market.
Launched on Monday at the New Delhi Auto Expo, the Beat offers some segment-first luxury features like automatic climate control and tilt steering. It also has handles on the back door windows rather than on the doors themselves.
Currently available in company showrooms, the 1.2 litre petrol Beat will also be available in diesel later this year.
Mint caught up with P. Balendran, vice president at General Motors India, to get a video walkthrough of the Beat, its key features, and what makes this car special.
