Bangalore: iGate Patni has signed a $30 million contract to provide managed information technology infrastructure services to its existing client Weyerhaeuser NR Co., one of the world’s largest forest products firms.
iGate Patni will manage Weyerhaeuser’s servers at various locations and provide on-demand storage using a private cloud model, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Weyerhaeuser operates in 10 countries and employs 14,900 people, mostly in the US and Canada.
The deal “reflects the market’s demand for a flexible, outcomes-based model—a model which focuses on the end results and on delivering a measurable impact on a client’s overall business,” said Robert Massie, head of sales for North America at iGate Patni.
iGate Patni already provides infrastructure management services, application development and support services, testing-related services and business intelligence system implementation and support to Weyerhaeuser.
Weyerhaeuser’s forest products include cellulose fibres (absorbent pulp, cellulose derivatives, construction materials and textiles), specialty fibres (paper and liquid packaging, liquid packaging boards, newsprint) and timber (chips, logs, seedlings and wood and building products).
