New Delhi: The Indian subsidiary of Czech auto maker Skoda Auto AS has more than doubled the number of cars it sold in the country in May compared with the year-ago period.
The company, Skoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd, sold 1,802 units in May this year, including 753 units of its hatchback model Fabia, launched in January this year, it said in a statement. In the same month last year, it had sold a total of 810 cars. Skoda, part of Germany-based Volkswagen Group, has sold more than 58,000 units since November 2001 when the company started its operations in India.
