Bangalore: France-based Smartesting, which develops software test automation solutions, today announced setting up of its India operations here targeting a turnover of €2 million by 2010.
“Smartesting India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the French firm, will aim at having a systematic approach to large IT, BPO companies like Infosys, Tatas, Wipro for adopting the solution for optimising its test centres,” Smartesting India MD Michel Guez said.
“The company will also pursue and intensify action carried out over the past year with local partner Qualitree in targeting customers here,” he said.
The new subsidiary also plans to build an integrated and dedicated software testing team in coordination with Qualitree.
“India is the gateway to the US market. We hope to access US clients through Indian IT service companies,” he said.
“We are not looking at the Indian market for product development or using Indian engineers for R&D, but rather for sale of the product,” he added.
The global software testing market is expected to touch $13 billion in 2010, of which 45% will be outsourced. Of the outsourced work, 70% is expected to come to India,” he said.
The current testing market in India is estimated at $700 million.
