Mumbai: Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam’s (SJVN) net profit for 2009-10 has fallen to Rs9.72 billion from Rs10.1 billion a year ago, while its net sales remained flat, a company statement showed.
The state-run power utility, which raised $240 million in its initial public offering in May, reported Rs17.7 billion as sales for the year, from 17.6 billion a year ago.
The hydro-electric player increased its power generation by 6.2% to 7,019 KWh from 6,609 KWh last year, the statement said.
The firm produced 2,424.6 KWh of electricity during the quarter ended 30 June, it added.
At 2:47p.m., shares in the firm traded down 1.02% at Rs24.30, in a Mumbai market that was up 1.02%.
