New Delhi: German trade fair organisers, Messe Berlin, have invited Indian companies to participate in its fairs. However the organisers have said that it will be a while before it organises trade fairs in India given the infrastructure bottlenecks in the country.
“We are keen to invite Indian firms especially those in sectors like travel, tourism, food, logistics and information technology,” said Raimund Hosch, ceo and president, Messe Berlin.
Hosch was of the opinion that with participating in the fairs, the Indian firms would be able to develop a strong market for their products given the large number of foreign participants.
He said that apart from traffic congestion, unavailability of land to develop a permanent trade fair ground, the length process of getting a visa are some of the bottlenecks for the fairs to be held in India.
The company has met government officials as well as industry associations inviting them to participate in its forthcoming events in Berlin.
