ONGC resumes oil output from Mumbai High

New Delhi: India’s state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) said on Friday that oil production from the Mumbai High field, the country’s biggest oil field, has resumed through the ICP-Heera Uran Trunk (HUT) pipeline.
“It has been estimated that oil spill will be dispersed within 48 hours,” the company said in a statement.
Earlier, ONGC said a leakage had been detected in the Mumbai Uran Trunk (MUT) pipeline at its off-shore operations about 80 kilometres off Mumbai coast, leading to a loss of about 25,000 barrels of in production.
