Tata Motors starts assembly plant in South Africa
New Delhi: Tata Motors (SA) (Proprietary) Ltd, the Indian vehicle maker’s joint venture with Tata Africa Holding (Pty) Ltd, started an assembly plant at Rosslyn in South Africa on Friday.
The factory has a capacity to assemble 3,650 semi-knocked-down kits, light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles ranging from 4 tonnes to 50 tonnes a year, the company said in statement. The joint venture invested 110 million rand (Rs72 crore) to build the factory, it said.
