TEDIndia on Thursday announced a list of speakers who will address the conference on the theme “The Future Beckons”. TED, short for technology, entertainment and design, was conceived by Richard Saul Wurman—whom ‘Fortune’ magazine once profiled as the king of access and a master networker.
TED curator Chris Anderson and long-time TED attendee Lakshmi Pratury, who has spent years building bridges between India and the West will be co-hosts. Pratury is the CEO of Ixoraa Media, which hosts the Aamra Grove retreat. She also writes a TED Chronicles column for Mint.
“TEDIndia is an opportunity to bring even more global voices to TED, and to bring TED’s energy and entrepreneurship to India,” Pratury says.
Infosys Technologies Ltd will both host and sponsor the conference at its training campus in Mysore. Companies such as Barclays Wealth, Ramco Systems, Cisco, Intel, and Google.org and venture capital firms such as Sherpalo Ventures and Intellectual Venture Partners are also partnering with TEDIndia.
“Infosys is happy and proud to partner with TED and host TEDIndia on our campus in Mysore. We are looking forward to an exciting and innovative event,” said CEO and managing director Kris Gopalakrishnan. Satya Bansal, Barclays Wealth India CEO said: “TED provides an ideal platform to showcase our brand values like thought leadership, vision and innovation.”
