Mumbai: SKF India posted over 60% increase in net profit at 0.74 crore for the quarter ended 30June, as compared to 25.32 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

The total income of the company increased 22.37% to Rs403.78 crore for the quarter ended 30 June, from Rs329.94 crore a year ago, the supplier of bearings and seals said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs450, up 4.87% on the BSE in afternoon trade.

Paints and chemicals maker ICI India posted a net profit of Rs22.88 crore for the quarter ended 30 June, where as the same was at Rs18.16 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

The total income (net of excise) was Rs239.87 crore for the quarter ended 30 June , while the same was at Rs236.72 crore a year ago, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The figures for the quarter are not directly comparable with those for the corresponding period of the previous year because of divestment of Uniqema business in August 2006.

During the quarter, sales from continuing businesses were up by 15% and segment profit increased by 29%.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs499, down 0.28% on BSE in afternoon trade.
