Hyderabad: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) has achieved a sales turnover of Rs2,026 crore in the April-June period of 2007-08, which is 14% more than Rs1,774 crore achieved in the same period last year.
Sales volume in the domestic market, at 634,000 tonnes of steel during the quarter, registered a growth of 7%.
RINL’s focus on value-added steel has resulted in the sale of 294,000 tonnes in the category during the quarter, a growth of 43% over the same period last year, a company release said here on 6 July.
Another significant feature was sale of 145,767 tonnes of steel in the projects segment, recording a growth of 16% over the same period last year.
The value-added production of 351,893 tonnes of steel during the quarter under review was best by the company since its inception. Similarly, bar production of 217,810 tonnes was the best ever quarter one output, the release added.
