NEW DELHI: Moser Baer India Ltd, the nation’s largest maker of computer compact discs, said it will invest $250 million (Rs1,113 crore) to set up a solar energy plant.
Moser Baer tied up with Applied Materials Inc., the world’s biggest maker of semiconductor-production equipment, to build the unit that will sell thin film technology to solar power producers.
The project will help generate 200 megawatts of solar energy, New Delhi-based Moser Baer said.
The Indian company will make the investments over three years, the statement added.
