Mumbai: Suzlon Energy has reported a net profit of Rs482.55 crore for the quarter ended March 2008, while the same stood at Rs437.82 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
“Total income of the company rose to Rs2,786.83 crore for the March quarter from Rs 2,097.55 crore during the previous corresponding quarter,” the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Suzlon Energy through its Netherlands-based wholly-owned subsidiary, AE-Rotor Holding BV, on 9 May, 2006 purchased 100% of the share capital of Eve Holding NV, Belgium for a consideration of Rs2,502.64 crore.
The financial figures for the year ended March 2007 include the figures of Eve Holding from 9 May, 2006.
“Accordingly, the consolidated financial results for the year ended March 31, 2008 are to that extent not comparable with the consolidated financial figures of the prior periods presented,” the company added.
By virtue of the acquisition of Eve Holding by AE-Rotor, the company has 100% ownership of Belgium-based Hansen Transmissions International NV, along with its subsidiaries.
For the year ended March 2008, it reported a net profit of Rs1,265.71 crore, while the same was at Rs1,061.14 crore in the previous year. Total income stood at Rs7,051.62 crore for the recently concluded fiscal.
The company has declared a final dividend of Re1 on shares of Rs2 each (50%) for fiscal year 2007-08.
On a consolidated basis, the group has posted a net profit of Rs464.82 crore for the quarter ended March 2008, where as the same was at Rs359 crore in the March quarter of 2007.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 309.30, up 0.44 per cent on the BSE in afternoon trade.
