Godrej targets Rs1,000 cr turnover by 2012 from security biz

New Delhi: Eyeing a 1,000 crore-turnover by 2012, Gordrej Security Equipment, a division of Godrej and Boyce Mfg Co, on added new products to its wide array of safety gadgets.
“With rising concerns about the security in the country, we see a lot of potential in this area and will now focus on providing complete security solutions to customers,” Godrej Security Equipment Division (SED) Vice president and business head D.E. Byramjee told reporters here.
Godrej is the largest manufacturer of security gadgets in the country and has over 75% share in the domestic market and dominates the banking segment for physical security products.
“Physical security products such as safes, high security doors and steel fabricated strong rooms were the main products of the company and it contributes around Rs200 crore in our total turnover of around Rs300 crore of the company,” Byramjee said.
Speaking about future plans of the company, he said, “By adding new products in our portfolio, we will now focus on providing complete security solutions to the customers that includes airport, large industrial complexes and other big establishments. In the next five years, we are targeting a turnover of more than Rs1,000 crore from the segment.”
