Corporate | IndianOil may buy stake in Venezuela oil field

New Delhi: Indian Oil Corp. Ltd (IOC) is considering a plan to bid for a stake in an oil field in Venezuela, Brij Mohan Bansal, director of planning and business development, said over the telephone from New Delhi on Thursday. IOC may bid for the stake along with Reliance Industries Ltd and Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd, he said.

Grupo Mexico given 15 May deadline for Asarco
Wilmington: Grupo Mexico SAB, Mexico’s biggest mining company, has until 15 May to deliver a plan for reorganizing its Asarco Llc unit, a judge ruled. Wednesday’s decision by US bankruptcy judge Richard Schmidt sets up a competition for control of Tucson, Arizona-based Asarco with Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd, India’s biggest copper producer.
