US aluminium giant Alcoa names Ratan Tata on board

New Delhi: Alcoa Inc, the world’s largest aluminium maker, named Tata group chairman Ratan Tata on its board of directors. The US-based aluminium giant said in a statement that Tata has been appointed a director of the company to fill a vacancy on the board. The appointment of Tata would expand Alcoa’s board strength to 11 members, the company said.
Alcoa chairman and CEO Alain Belda said, “Ratan’s global business acumen and his depth of knowledge about quality and customer satisfaction will make him a valuable addition to our board of directors."
