BHEL bags Rs2,175 cr order
New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged a repeat contract for setting up a 600 MW thermal power generating unit in Tamil Nadu, on EPC basis.
Valued at Rs2,175 crore, the contract has been placed by Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).
It had earlier placed a similar EPC contract on BHEL for setting up a 600 MW thermal power generating unit at the same power station.
BHEL and TNEB had recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the formation of a Joint Venture Company (JVC) for setting up a 2x800 MW supercritical thermal power project in Tuticorin District in Tamil Nadu.
The stock at Rs1,503 levels is trading down 3.8% or Rs60 in a weak Mumbai market.
