New Delhi: The i10, a sporty hatchback made by Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has become the fastest car to sell over 300,000 units since its launch in October 2007.
In the past few years Hyundai has built its Indian facilities as an export base for its compact cars. As a result, the i10 exported 156,000 units, while the rest was sold here in India.
Last month Maruti Suzuki India Ltd’s Swift model had also crossed the 300,000-car mark. Launched in 2005, the Swift is made for the domestic market. Suzuki services the European market through its Hungary plant.
