New Delhi: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS), India’s largest software services exporter, expects the fees it charges customers to increase in the near term.
The pricing environment is stable and will “increase systematically,” chief executive N. Chandrasekaran told reporters in New Delhi. “Generally, when the demand is up, the pricing also tends to increase.”
In the past few months, TCS has been able to increase billing rates by 2-3% in a “few deals”, he said.
Chandrasekaran said there has been a pick up in discretionary spending and the firm’s deal pipeline looks positive even though the macro-economic concerns remain.
“Despite the fact that there is some uncertainty in the macro-economic environment, customers are going about their plans as they had originally intended,” he said.
