Bangalore: Century Refineries Pvt Ltd commissioned its new plant with enhanced capacity for recycling of used and waste oils.
“The plant is equipped with latest wiped film evaporator which can handle wide range of industrial used/waste oils,” firm’s Managing Director S K Bharadwaj said, adding: “With an in-house incinerator, recycling would be with zero discharge”.
Bharadwaj said that the company was started 11 years ago with a view to bring into re-use, vast quantities of used and waste oils which were being thrown away and might be causing environment pollution.
Karnataka State Pollution Control Board Chairman Sharatchandra said that the company is making a mark in the state in dealing with hazardous waste material and recycling of used/waste oils, thus not only helping in cleaning the environment but also saving, though in a small way, precious fossil fuels.
