Hyderqabad: Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) today launched a new generation of products in animal nutrition for higher productivity and fat content in milk in dairy cattle.
The products launched-- Goudhara Shakti (Rumen protected bypass fat, fortified with live yeast and herbal galcagogues), Goudhara (Rumen protected bypass fat) and Gousac (Live yeast powder).
The launch of these nutraceutical products is also consistent with NDDB’s National Dairy Plan, which seeks to enhance milk production from 100 Million MT to 180 Million MT in next 15 years, largely through improved nutrition and improved genetics.
IIL will work closely with dairy cooperatives and organized dairies to help farmers benefit from these new technologies through latest management tools such as ration balancing.
Considering that nearly 60 per cent of the cost of managing dairy animals goes into feeding for animals, this approach is expected to contribute substantially towards improving profitability of dairy farmers, who are mostly small and landless farmers with low purchasing power.
IIL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NDDB, is a biotech major in India and ranks 7th among all biotechnology companies in India and 5th among all bio-pharmaceutical companies in India, IIL is also the number one.
Animal vaccine manufacturer and among the top three animal health companies in India, IIL’s “Raksha” brand of FMD vaccine is the largest selling brand in the animal health market in India.
