New Delhi: CII announced the formation of the National Committee of Intellectual Property Owners. Its main charter would be to address the comprehensive needs of Intellectual property owners of India.
It would emerge as a nodal committee which would strive towards making India a truly ‘IP savvy country’ encompassing IPR Policy, Protection & Enforcement issues in tandem with CII National theme for 2007 -08: Building people, building India.
The committee has been constituted with support of Captains of Indian IPR Initiatives from more than 50 leading industries, law firms, international agencies, academic institutes and policy making bodies. The National Committee will be committed to serve the interest of all intellectual property owners in all industries and fields of technology.
* Nationwide capacity building initiatives through extensive IP awareness and training programmes across the country
*50 programmes planned for IP practitioners in Indian Industry, MSME’s, Enforcement agencies and research and development institutes.
*150 IPR protection facilitation services to be undertaken this year
