Mumbai: Pharmaceutical firm Lupin today posted nearly three-fold increase in consolidated net profit at Rs180.86 crore for the quarter ended 31December, 2007 as against Rs62.02 crore during the same quarter in 2006.
Total income of the group rose 66.93% to Rs860.23 crore in Q3FY08 from Rs515.32 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The company on a standalone basis reported over three-fold increase in net profit at Rs170.28 crore for the quarter ended 31December, 2007 as compared to Rs56.03 crore in the same quarter last year.
Total income also increased 46.13% to Rs747.05 crore for the quarter ended 31December, 2007 from Rs 511.20 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago, the company added.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs471.05, down 12.31% on the BSE in the afternoon trade.
