New Delhi: The biggest pavilion at the weeklong 9th Auto Expo in New Delhi is also promising to be the hub of activities in the (11 – 17) January, 2008 event. The pavilion, which is booked by Tata Motors and Fiat jointly, will see 17 new Tata-made vehicles being rolled out. Apart from Tata Nano, the much-hyped Rs1 lakh car, which was unveiled Thursday at a glittering ceremony, the new Sumo Grande was also launched Wednesday at the 5,200-square meter pavilion.
Sumo Grande will be available in showrooms through January and beginning of February. The new Sumo Grande combines the looks of an SUV with the comforts of a family car. Designed with a longer wheelbase of 2550 mm (existing 2400 mm), the Sumo Grande sports comfortable three row seating with third row seats. The vehicle is powered by the new generation 2.2 L direct injection common rail (DICOR) engine, fitted with a variable geometry turbocharger.
