Tiruchirapalli: Power plant equipment major BHEL has bagged a ₹ 2,665 crore order from Dainik Bhaskar Power Limited for supply and installation of the main plant package for their 2x600 MW coal based thermal power project at Baradarha in Janjgir district in Chhattisgarh.
The scope of BHEL would cover design, engineering, MFR, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of boilers, steam turbines and turbo generators, along with state-of-the-art controls and instrumentations and other associated auxillaries, a company statement said.
While the BHEL complex here will take care of boiler production, the Bangalore Unit would handle installation of controls and instrumentation systems and the Ranipet Unit, the auxillaries.
BHEL said Independent Power Producers account for 90% of the orders placed for a total of 16,489 MW of power plant equipment in 2009-10, it said.
