MediAngels raises $1 million from Ventureast Tenet Fund

The company allows patients to consult doctors through online and video consultation

Mumbai: Mumbai-based Angels Health Pvt Ltd that owns and operates online doctor consultation company MediAngels.com, has raised $1 million in funding from Ventureast Tenet Fund and the government of India’s technology development board, said Sateesh Andra, managing partner with Ventureast on Friday.

The news was first reported by The Economic Times.

Angels Health was founded in 2011 by Debraj Shome and Arbinder Singal, with an early stage (seed) investment of Rs2.6 crore from HDFC Holdings Ltd. The founders are doctors who have been practicing at leading hospitals in India.

The company allows patients to consult doctors through online and video consultation. In addition to this the company also carries out online medical record keeping and online ordering of pharmaceuticals.

“Patients have access to 400 doctors across 15 countries from 95 various departments that are carefully screened and selected by the company’s advisory board. The patients are charged anywhere between Rs500 and Rs3,000 for a sitting," said Andra over the phone.
