New Delhi: Bharti Airtel Ltd, India’s largest wireless operator, on Monday named Ashok Ganapathy, the hub CEO of its Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat circles, as the head of its unit that provides business solutions. He will report to the Bharti Airtel chief executive Gopal Vittal.
Ganapathy takes over as director (Airtel Business) from Manish Prakash, who has been named as director (strategic alliances).
Airtel Business is the company’s division that provides end to end solutions services to companies and government entities.
The appointments take effect on 1 July.
“I am delighted at the appointment of Ashok to lead Airtel Business, which is a key contributor to our growth. I am confident that his diverse experience will bring immense value to the portfolio that Manish has successfully built," Vittal said in a statement.
Ganapathy has an experience of 26 years in FMCG, entertainment, retail and telecom sectors. He has a B. Tech degree from IIT, Madras and MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad. He started his career with Hindustan Unilever in 1990 as a management trainee.
