Mumbai: Bajaj Electricals Ltd is not planning price cuts across the board for its consumer products despite softening of costs of the raw materials, a company official said.
“Whatever we had to pass, we have passed on. Further we are unlikely to pass on,” R. Ramakrishnan, executive director, told Reuters, when asked if benefits of softening raw material prices would be passed on to consumers.
The company did not pass on cost burden to customers in the first half of the current financial year, and due to pressure on profitability now it would not have across-the-board price cuts, he said.
“In certain products like in fans, we have brought down our prices by 4 to 5%. In certain categories like mixer grinder, we are taking certain strategic steps in terms of pricing,” Ramakrishnan said.
The company makes ceiling fans, room air coolers, room heaters, mixers, lamps and lighting products and also has a engineering and projects division.
