Mumbai: Public sector Allahabad Bank on 16 January posted a 27.58% surge in net profit at Rs365.05 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007, as against Rs286.13 crore for the corresponding period previous fiscal.
The total income of the bank increased to Rs1,956.41 crore for the quarter under review as against Rs1,402.83 crore for the same period last year, up 39.46%, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Shares of Allahabad Bank were trading at Rs129.50, down 3.25% in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
Chambal Fertilisers Q3 net down at Rs 63 cr
Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals, a KK Birla group company, on 16 January posted a 9.67% drop in net profit at Rs63.35 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, as against Rs70.13 crore for the same period last year.
However, the total income of the firm increased 3.01% at Rs822.85 crore for the period under review as compared to Rs798.76 crore for the same quarter last year, the company informed the BSE.
Shares of Chambal Fertilisers were trading at Rs 77.50, down 4.32%in the afternoon trading session on the BSE.
