Aviation | Govt considers AAI plan to sell Rs5,000 cr bonds

Mumbai: The central government is considering a plan by the state-run airports operator to sell bonds worth Rs5,000 crore for funding the renovation of airfields. Airports Authority of India (AAI) is seeking to issue infrastructure bonds, civil aviation minister Praful Patel told Parliament on Thursday. The operator has a plan to spend Rs12,434 crore in the five years ending March 2012, he added.
