Ranbaxy gets US FDA approval for cardiac drug

Mumbai: Indian drug major Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd said on 25 April 2007 it had approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration to manufacture and market pravastatin sodium tablets in the country.
The company said it has been granted 180-day market exclusivity in the US healthcare system for the 80-mg dosage of the drug, which is used to treat cardiac diseases.
Shares of Ranbaxy Laboratories gained 5.71% to Rs369.10
