New Delhi: TVS Motor Co. Ltd plans to relaunch the twin-spark plug powered Flame motorcycle, the company said in a release.
The auto maker had been barred from selling the motorcycle after rival Bajaj Auto Ltd filed a patent infringement claim. The spark plugs result in the fuel burning more efficiently, which in turn leads to greater mileage.
In September, the Supreme Court had allowed TVS to sell the Flame, pending resolution of the litigation. A court-appointed receiver would keep records of the number of bikes sold, which would help the court in deciding the quantum of damages, if any.
The Madras high court started hearing the case in October and is expected to give its verdict later this month.
