Intel Capital invests $65 million in 16 tech firms
Perpetuuiti Technosoft and Savaari Car Rentals from India have received funding from Intel Capital
New Delhi: Chip maker Intel on Wednesday said it has invested $65 million in 16 technology firms across nine countries, including two companies in India.
The US-based firm’s global investment and M&A arm, Intel Capital, has invested in firms that are working on innovations in the domain of cloud, data centre, mobile technologies and consumer services.
Perpetuuiti Technosoft and Savaari Car Rentals from India have received funding from Intel Capital, Intel said in a statement. While Perpetuuiti Technosoft offers real-time visibility and availability management of business continuity planning/disaster recovery infrastructure, Savaari Car Rentals is an online car rental firm, which through technology aims to organise the largely unorganised car rental market, it added.
The investment managers for the India investments are Bhavanipratap Rana, Intel Capital investment director based at Bangalore, and Deepak Gupta, Intel Capital director based at Mumbai. These announcements were made at the 14th Annual Intel Capital Global Summit held in San Diego, US.
Intel Capital made their first investment in India in 1998 and has invested over $330 million in over 90 technology companies across 10 cities till date.
Since 1991, Intel Capital has invested more than $11 billion in over 1,322 companies in 54 countries. PTI
