Honda changes name of its car subsidiary in India
Japan’s Honda Motor Co. has renamed its Indian unit, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, to Honda Cars India Ltd after local partner Usha International Ltd sold its entire stake in the company.
“The name change will be with immediate effect as per the fresh certificate of incorporation issued by the registrar of companies, NCT (national capital territory) of Delhi and Haryana," Honda said in a statement.
In 2010, Honda had ended a venture between its two-wheeler arm and the Munjal-owned Hero Group by selling its 26% stake in the then Hero Honda Motors Ltd to the Munjal family for Rs3,800 crore. The Japanese company makes and sells two-wheelers in India through Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India.
