Dheeraj Sinha joins Leo Burnett as chief strategy officer
Dheeraj Sinha will be based in Mumbai and will lead the strategic planning functions across South Asia from May
New Delhi: Advertising agency Leo Burnett has appointed Dheeraj Sinha as its chief strategy officer, the company said on Thursday.
Sinha will be based in Mumbai and will lead the strategic planning functions across South Asia from May.
The appointment comes after the national planning director Rajeev Sharma quit the firm last week after a 23-year stint.
Sinha will be first to assume the title of chief strategy officer. Until now, the responsibility was shared by Sharma and the chief executive officer-South Asia, Saurabh Varma.
“We are really excited that Dheeraj is joining us at this critical juncture in our evolution as an agency. We have incredible momentum as a team and both Raj and I were in the hunt for a partner," Varma said. RajDeepak Das is the chief creative officer at Leo Burnett India.
Sinha has over 17 years of experience at advertising and marketing agencies like McCann Erickson, Euro RSCG and Bates 141. He has also authored two books on the Indian consumer market—India Reloaded-Inside the Resurgent Indian Consumer Market and Consumer India-Inside the Indian Mind and Wallet.
