New Delhi: Riding high on the international hospitality wave, India has once again figured in the list of world’s best small luxury hotels with Jaipur’s Raj Palace becoming the sixth hotel to enter the coveted group.
Kumarakom Lake Resort in Kerala, The Amarvilas in Agra and Rajvilas, Udaivilas and Vanyavilas in Rajathan are already part of this prestigious bouquet.
“We have extended our offering in a culturally rich and sought after location with the addition of Raj Palace,” Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) of the World Joint Managing Director Paul Kerr said in a statement.
As discerning travellers continue to seek out the unique and exciting, the prized hotel will provide the perfect answer with its 29-room palatial retreat in the pink city of Jaipur.
“SLH is diligent about finding the very best properties in a particular location in order to deliver the most memorable experience to a discerning clientele. We are excited to be able to extend our offerings in such a culturally rich and sought after location with the addition of another exclusive property,” he added.
Being the only Palace Hotel in India to make it to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, The Raj Palace offers suite only accommodation, a selection of multi-cuisine restaurants and traditional Ayurvedic and Kerala massage.
The hotel houses one of the biggest crystal chandeliers of India and a beautiful antique crockery museum with a collection of around 200 years old antique crockery.
SLHs of the World is a collection of over 400 independent hotels in more than 65 countries.
In 2006, total reservations at SLH hotels grew by 16% over 2005 while revenue per room increased by 15 per cent, the statement said.
