L&T wins orders worth ₹2,215 crore
Additional orders worth Rs116 crore have also been received from other businesses of L&T Construction, says the company
Mumbai: India’s biggest engineering and construction firm Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T) on Tuesday said it had won orders worth ₹ 2,215 crore across various business segments over the last two months.
The power transmission and distribution business contributed ₹ 1,137 crore of new orders, ₹ 962 crore of orders went to the buildings and factories unit that includes a repeat order of ₹ 732 crore for a commercial project in Oman.
“Additional orders worth ₹ 116 crores have also been received from other businesses of L&T Construction," the company said in its statement.
For the December quarter, the company had revised its order inflow guidance for this fiscal year to a range of 15% to 20%, from the earlier guidance of an absolute 20%.
The company’s net profit rose to ₹ 870 crore in the quarter ended 31 December from ₹ 800 crore in the year-earlier period. As on 31 December 2014, the consolidated order book for the company was at ₹ 2.26 trillion.
At 12.26pm, Larsen and Toubro Ltd was trading at ₹ 1,833.80 on the BSE, down 0.53% from the previous close, while the benchmark Sensex Index rose 0.11% to 29,492.80 points.
