Mumbai: Engineering company Thermax has received an order worth Rs820 crore from a major refinery for supply of pulverised coal fired boilers.
The company in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange said, this is the single largest order received by the company till date. However, the company did not disclose the name of the refinery from which they have received the order.
They said refinery is currently implementing significant capacity expansion slated to process up to 35 million TPA of crude for their captive co generation plant.
“The co-generation plant would be consisting of 4x750 TPH pulverised coal fired boilers to be manufactured by the company under technology license from US-based Babcock and Wilcox power generation group,” Thermax added.
Further, the company said the high-pressure steam would generate 390 MW of electricity and the balance energy produced would be used for process heating within the refinery for which Indonesian coal would be used.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs371.10, up 3.11% on the Bombay Stock Exchange in afternoon trade.
